Love Is ....

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's
February 1, 2015 Reveal.

This month FOUR new rubber stamp sets and two new digi-only sets are being introduced.   These sets are 20% off their regular price, until Feb. 3rd.  All the new reveal sets are available on Cling Mounted Rubber and as a digital image.  Iris Garden #687 is the stamp set featured in  This Month's Technique Video.

The sets are:

Seasonal Trees #680   (digi version DIGI680)
Sleep Over #686   (digi version DIGI686)
Iris Garden #687  (digi version DIGI687)
Berry Sundae #688   (digi version DIGI688)
Wild About You #DIGI692 (digi only)
Stanley Valentine #DIGI693 (digi only)

Hi Everyone! I chose to use the Berry Sundae stamp set 688 on my card this month. Ice cream is my most favorite dessert in all the world! The more chocolatey and chunky the better! LOL! I had a pad of paper that went perfectly with this set.

This is how the card looks when it is closed. I used Dazzling Rose glitter G1085 on the berries. For the whipped cream I applied White Liquid Applique and added Sparkling Snow glitter G1003 on it and heat set it. I also used the Sparkling Snow glitter in the mixing bowl in the corner. Diamond Glaze was used on the ice cream bowl.

On Feb 3rd,  one Grand Prize Winner will be selected from the comments left on the designers' blogs listed below.  The Grand Prize Winner will receive
all FOUR of the new rubber stamp sets (or digi sets, if you prefer)

The winner of the blog hop will be announced on Feb 3 on Facebook, the SNS blog, and on our blogs.  This month's Blog Hop order is:

Yummy

Hi Everyone! It am back with another card I made with a stamp set, The Collector 682, from Sparkle N Sprinkle. This little "fella" has been busy!  I had this patterned paper that I thought would go great with him. I made my own glitter paper by using the Versamarker on all the red fruits and veggies, adding Sparkle embossing powder EP107 and heat setting it.

I had fun making the ribbon by folding it accordion style. I then added the bow separately.

Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft SS107 was used on the mouse's stomach.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sweet Cupcake

Hi Everyone, I hope you are having a good day. I am low on birthday cards again, so I made one today to have on hand. I love this Squinty and Porsche Cupcake E7524 stamp from Impression Obsession. These critters are too cute!

I applied White Liquid Applique on the poodle and added Twinkling Clouds glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle to it for some shimmer. I also added the same glitter around the edges of the card by using double sided tape.

I also used Spellbinders Labels 8, Daisies and Floral Flourishes dies.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Dreaming of Spring

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I am so glad to see the sunshine after many days of damp and cloudy weather. So this card has me dreaming of Spring! I am entering this into Penny Black's challenge -- NEW. With this card I have used my new vagabond machine to cut the dies, used my new gelli plate to make the background and the background is a new technique! I just love this cute hedgehog from the Penny Black stamp set Wonderful Day.

I pop dotted the center die to give the card some more dimension.

The black embossing powder and glitter are compliments of Sparkle N Sprinkle. I also used Diamond Glaze over the glittered flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Bargello Technique -- Third Thursday

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are having a good day. With the New Year here, how about some Oldies? With all the new gadgets coming on the market now, we sometimes forget about the fun and old techniques we learned in the past. This year on my blog, I want to play with some of the old techniques and I just may come up with a new twist on some of them! I plan to show an Oldies technique the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. I would like for you to drop by to see and try these with me.

My first Oldies technique is bargello. This technique is a great way to use up all those paper scraps you may have lying around.

First  you need to choose some scrap papers.

Now cut each paper into strips. I did not pay much attention at how wide I was cutting the strips. Some of mine are wider than the others.

Now you need to start weaving the strips. I pulled up on 2 of the long white patterned strips and slipped the green down to the bottom. This seemed an easier way to weave.

This was as far as I could weave because I ran out of green strips, but you can weave more if you want. I turned the piece over and put some runner tape on the woven area so I could anchor it on my pink card stock.

After I adhered it to my pink card stock, I then used a little liquid glue on the end of each strip to secure it well to the card stock.

Next cut off the strips so that they are even with the pink card.

Here is another card where I used double sided paper, cut my strips and just layered them side by side to make a background for the image. There are many ways to use your strips. You could try putting them side by side diagonally or just straight. I hope you will try this and see what combinations you can come up with.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will stop by again for another Oldies technique the first Thursday in February!

Have a blessed day!

Gelli Plate Play

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your day. We have had cloudy and damp days lately, so I have been inside playing with my new purchase -- the gelli plate. I have used a lot of different inks and paints and my favorite to use with the gelli plate is Mica Gloss inks from Judikins. They are just the right consistency and stay wet longer, so this makes them easier to use. This is a background I made with them using a Kite stencil called Nouveau Damask. I was so tempted to add more designs and colors to this, but I really liked it as it was so I left it this way. You can see some of the shimmer of the ink on the bottom right.

I started off by dotting 2 colors of ink side by side on the plate and brayering them on smoothly.

I then laid my stencil on top of the ink.

I found that using a paper towel removes the ink a little better than paper, so I laid a paper towel over the stencil and brayered over it to remove the ink.

I lifted off the paper towel and stencil and then laid my card stock over the ink that was left and this was the result!

Here is the card I made with this background. I did not want to cover too much of the background because it was so pretty.

A little closer look. The dies I used are Memory Box Fresh Foliage and Quickutz Scallop Circles. The bird is a digital image from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Tangled

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I suspect most of you have taken down the tree decorations, but these cuties remind me of me getting tangled up in the lights. No matter if I am putting up the lights or taking them down, I am all tangled up! LOL! This is one of the newer released stamp set called Brighten the Holidays 663 from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I used an svg file for the tree. I then added White Liquid Applique around the edges, added Sparkling Snow glitter G1003 and heat set it to make it puffy like snow. I used a small hole punch and punched holes in the tree, layered the tree pieces onto sticker paper and added Gypsy Red velvet glitter GM2005.

I stamped the image, colored it with copics, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the base of the card. Gypsy Red  GM2005, Goldenrod GM2006 and Purple Rain GM2020 velvet glitters were used on the lights in the penguins' hands.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Enjoy The Journey

Hi Everyone! I trust you had a Happy New Year. I want to share a tag I made for 2015. I had a lot of fun making it.

I made my own tissue paper background by dabbing Distress Stains on white tissue paper and stamping on it when it dried using black ink. I crumpled it and then pressed it out a bit. I adhered it to a tag by sponging on a liquid glue. The numbers were cut from black glossy card stock and adhered to corrugated cardboard.

I used Antiquities embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle around the edges of the tag and on the saying. The ribbons were dyed using Distress Stains.

I hope you will have a great year ahead in 2015!
