Happiness is a Journey

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's June 1 Reveal

This month FIVE new stamp sets are being introduced. Until June 3, the sets are 20% off their regular price. The Camera Life rubber stamp set is available on Cling Mounted Rubber, as a digital image, and is also included in Jazzy Jill's Technique Video for the month.

The sets are:
Journal Mixed Media #606
Camera Life #620 (Digital Stamp available)
Vintage Pickup #628 (Digital Stamp available)
Road Less Traveled (sports car) #629 (Digital Stamp available)
Travelin (camper) #630 (Digital Stamp Set available)
plus
(a Cruisin' Digital Stamp Set #Digi629 which contains all the cars & trucks, including a VW Beetle #Digi629.2 is available.

Aren't these sets perfect for summer travel? I had fun using the Vintage Pickup and Journal Mixed Media sets on my card.

For the right panel I used a piece of metal sheet, ran it through a gear embossing folder, swiped black permanent ink over the raised areas and sanded off some of the ink. The left panel was made by stamping the mesh stamp from the Journal Mixed Media set and adding Teddy Brown embossing powder EP187to it. I also used the same embossing powder on the saying and truck.

To make the truck more interesting, I stamped the dictionary stamp from the Journal Mixed Media set onto the truck, colored it and fussy cut. I used a silver metallic pen on the chrome areas and silver embellishments on the wheels. The dictionary stamp was also used on the torn paper background. I used the golf bag from the Golf stamp set 509 to put in the back of the truck.

You may click here if you would like to see full instructions on how to make this card.

On June 3 five winners will be selected from the comments left on the designers' blogs listed below. Each winner will receive a new stamp set, and the choice of one embossing powder and glitter to go with their new set.

The new SNS Creative Challenges also begins today, with lots of prizes and recognition badges.

The winners of the blog hop will be announced on June 3 on Facebook, the SNS blog, and on our blogs:

Stand Up Card

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. This afternoon we had some showers that we really needed. It is fitting then that my card has a "rainy" image on it! I made this stand up card that Joan at Joan's Touch demoed on her blog. I have never made one of these before and I enjoyed making it. The challenge on her blog is to make one of these type cards. You basically cut out most of the image and fold back the card so that it stands on its own. You can see how to make it here. The card folds flat so that you can send it nicely in an envelope.

I made some roses to add to the card. Here is a close up. The leaf die is from Memory Box and the butterfly die is from Cheery Lynn.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day is wonderful!

Road Trip

Hi Everyone!  Now that the days are warmer and sunny,  it is time for a road trip! I can think of plenty of places I would like to go.  This new stamp set -- Travel Mixed Media 607  from Sparkle N Sprinkle -- is perfect for a road trip card.

I had this piece of patterned paper with the USA map on it. What a perfect piece! I cut an oval out of it using a die. On a blue piece of card stock, I stamped and embossed the road map using Teddy Brown embossing powder EP187. I pop dotted the USA map over the road map. I outlined the USA map using Glisten embossing powder EP135. The mail postage stamp at the top of the card is also in the Travel Media set.

I used the car from the Surfin' Woody set 456 and the saying is from the Bicycle set 494.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous day!

The new stamp sets are:

Travel Mixed Media #607
Floral Flourish #634
Leafy Flourish #641
Nesting Bird #602   (digital available)
Church Sympathy #604   (digital available)
Across the Miles #603   (digital available)
Spunky with Flowers #605 (digital available)
Garden Silhouette #600 (digital available)

I would like to share two cards I have made with two of the new stamp sets. The first one is using the Church Sympathy set 604. This is such a versatile set. I can see it being used for Christmas, Easter, baptisms and weddings too.

I used a the recent Crackle Background stamp 609 on the left side of the card and embossed with Vanilla Ice embossing powder EP265. The image was stamped and embossed using Silver embossing powder EP179 and then colored with copics.

I tried my hand at making a swing card and used the Spellbinders Beaded Oval die.

The flowers were made sparkly with Bubblegum glitter G1088. To see full card instructions please click here.

Here is the second card using the Leafy Flourish stamp set 641. I just love how this flourish fancies up a card!

The flourishes were stamped and embossed using Brown Fizz embossing powder EP381 and colored in using copics. One flourish was fussy cut and popped over the birds.

The chickadees' bellies ( Birds set 348 ) were colored with copics and Lemonade glitter G1091 was added for sparkle.  You can see the instructions on how to make this card here.

Walking in the Rain

Hi Everyone!  I trust you had a wonderful Mother's Day either with your mother or having a nice time with your own family.  It is still Spring and we are seeing those thunderstorms popping up here and there. We were traveling this weekend and came through some very heavy downpours. I want to share a card I made with a recent Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set called April Showers 555. This is an appropriate stamp set for this time of year. These two are having a fun time walking in the rain.

Cloud Nine Velvet glitter GM2000 was used on the white frame. I cut the frame from a Super Adhesive sheet, peeled off the top layer and added the glitter. I colored the puddle and raindrops,  used Brushable glue and added the glitter to them also.

For full instructions on how to make this card please click here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sunshiny Day!

Hi Everyone! We have had wonderful sunshiny days here recently! I am loving it! I want to share a card I made depicting a sunny day. Watermelon is so good on a hot summer's day. Even though it is still Spring it feels like summer this week. We have had temps in the 90's! Isn't this little rabbit by House Mouse so cute?

Over at Simon Says Stamp the challenge is to use 5 things on your card. Well, this was a challenge for me because I tend to use a lot more than 5 things on a card! Here I used 3 dies, an embossing folder and a bow -- all my favorite things! At Joan's Gardens the challenge is to use butterflies, an embossing folder and a sentiment. The sentiment was computer generated. I think I covered all the requirements for both! LOL!

This was such a fun card to make. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope your day is sunny and bright!

12 Tags of 2014 -- May

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. It is warm and beautiful here. I am glad Spring has sprung and that it is staying warm. I want to share a tag I made for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014 - May challenge. The theme is using trinkets. I have all kinds of charms and trinkets to choose from, so I chose to use some Spring ones. You can see Tim's tag here.

I cut chipboard pieces, added patterned papers to them and sponged Vintage Photo ink around the edges. It was fun picking out the different trinkets to use.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
