Technique Cuttlebug Challenge

This week for the cuttlebug challenge we are to make a card using a favorite technique. The technique I used was to directly ink up an embossing folder on both of the insides and then use colored card stock and run it through the cuttlebug. I used black ink and aqua card stock for this card. I love the look of this technique and it makes a great background.

Technique Trio Challenge

I am doing some challenges over at Stamp Haven. We needed to do 3 techniques on this card. The techniques  were -- use inks to color a background -- I used alcohol inks on glossy card stock to color my background. We were to stamp on top of this with a background stamp. I used one of my new Impression Obsession backgrounds with butterflies. Then we were to run our piece through an embossing folder. I highlighted the embossing with Staz On Saddle Brown ink. This gave it an antiqued look.

Two Challenges

Here are cards for 2 challenges on the Stamp Haven Board. We had to do a Vintage card. I have done several before, but enjoyed trying this style again.  On the other card we had to use a paint sample chip. I only had a yellow one which is good for this season! On the paint chip card I used some of my new toys from the convention -- the flower and the fancy frame on the chip!

Playing With New Toys

I just had to play with all my new toys that I bought at the Heirloom stamp convention yesterday! They were calling to me. LOL! I bought new Nellie die cut frames, big backgrounds from Impression Obsession, and flowers and die cuts to match from Heartfelt Creations. Here are 2 cards I made with them. You will be seeing more on my blog in the near future!

Fall is on the Way

I am really looking forward to Fall. It seems that we might actually get some Fall weather Sunday and Monday! We have also had a beautiful Harvest moon the last couple of nights. This owl card reminded me of that moon. On my tree card I used the polished stone technique -- I used a few drops of alcohol inks on a felt applicator, spirtzed the applicator with 90% alcohol and pounced it on glossy card stock. I used a cuttlebug leaf border at the bottom of the card. Hoping these cards will help Fall come our way! LOL!

Autumn Card

I hosted a challenge on the Posh Impressions board. I took the letters of Fall and created a theme.

F -- Feathers ( use birds )
A--  Autumn card
L -- Leaves
L -- Letters

These 4 elements had to be on the card. This is a sample that I made for it.

Just Right Challenge

I made this card for the Just Right challenge. We were to use black, dark red, and cream colors, Just Right Stamps, and handmade embellishments. I made the flower using a punch and red tissue paper.

Nostalgia

This is my card that I have entered in the cuttlebug contest this week. The theme is nostalgia and we are to use something cuttlebugged on it as well. I used Martha Stewart's lace corner and border punches to make the pink lace border.  The brown background was made by running the card stock through the paisley folder and then brushing a dark brown ink pad across it to bring out the paisley design. The writing and girl came from a page of Collage Clips that I got from the Somerset Studio magazine. The cream frame is a die cut from Quick Kutz, and the butterflies were cut off corners after I punched them using Martha Stewart's corner butterfly punch. I loved working with this theme.

Fall Colors

I am back from my trip! I am in the Fall mood now since the weather over there in Europe was more fall-like than the weather here! I pulled out some cards that I had made with colorful leaves to share with you. The leaf that is on the green card was made by using the thumping technique. Take markers and thump the marker onto the rubber, huff and stamp. I love this technique and it always gives a neat look. The leaves on the brown card were first stamped and embossed with white embossing powder and then chalked over the white. The white leaves were embossed with white embossing powder over a brayered background using a multicolored ink pad on glossy card stock. The leaf background on the pumpkin card were stamped using a multicolored stamps pad and then spritzed with water to stamp a softer background. I love Fall and all the beautiful colors. I can't wait to make some new Fall projects!
